Accessories are a growing sector that offers real job opportunities. The IFM Design School’s "Accessories" major was established in 2008.
IFM accessories design graduates now work at Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Pierre Hardy, Diesel, Burberry, Nina Ricci, Tom Ford, Versace, Martin Margiela … or have set up their own brands like Natalia Brilli.
Here are a few of the companies that actively participate in the creation of prototypes: Louis Vuitton, Robert Clergerie, JM Weston, Eram (shoes)… Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Paco Rabanne, Sonia Rykiel, Tila March (bags)… Christian Dior, Paule Ka, Patrick Hoet, Chantal Thomass (glasses)…

At the IFM, unlimited creativity comes into contact with the best technical savoir-faire. For one year, the students make prototypes with the Institut’s partner companies (mostly big French Fashion houses and manufacturers).
This collaboration with 40 companies leads to prototypes of clothing, bags, glasses and shoes being made each year with an exceptional abundance of creative ideas.

Throughout the year, the IFM design and management students work together during specially planned workshops to help them understand one another better.

IFM designers are chosen for their strong personality, their creativity and their willingness to develop concrete projects in direct partnership with big fashion houses and companies. The international environment leads to a high level of creative emulation within the group.
Since January 2000, 110 designers have gone through the IFM’s design program. The wealth of their cultural horizons and the diverse paths they have taken make them stand out from the crowd. They mainly come from reputable international schools; a number of them are foreign nationals even if they did their undergraduate studies in France. Once they graduate from the IFM, the majority go on to have a career in France, mainly in the fashion houses and luxury companies, in ready-to-wear or accessories. Some IFM design graduates have set up their own brand, others work as freelance designers.
