Program Description
Program Courses
A full semester program is offered to those who wish to spend some time learning Chinese language and culture and relevant subjects at their choice.
This program has been designed for international students who wish to spend one or two semesters (15 or 17 or 34 weeks) in Shanghai taking Chinese language and culture courses and a series of other subjects in Humanities, Economics or Business.
These subjects are taught in English and can be chosen from a range of electives according to students' preferences. Students are welcome to choose two subjects per semester: if a 15-week semester is chosen, the lecture length for each subject is 45 hours; if a 17-week semester is chosen, the lecture length for each subject is 51 hours. At the end of the program students receive a transcript of grades that may be used to validate credits
at their home university.
The advantage of this program is that international students without enough Chinese language skills for the regular university courses can learn Chinese while taking Humanities, Economics or Business subjects in English. Students do not need to pass any kind of exam to access these programs unless required by their home universities.
This program has professors from SISU and Xianda and top level professionals active in the economic and business activities who have tremendous experiences in teaching international students. Their academic knowledge and professional skills will greatly help international students to understand China from many different aspects.
