Swiss Ski Instructor Course

Dates: January – March 2014 (11 weeks)
Location: Château d’Oex/Gstaad valley

This course includes the following:
  • Swiss Ski Instructor Course (10 hours per week, practical and theory) including final exam
  • Language course (10 hours per week)
  • Whole PersonTM coaching (leadership, entrepreneurship, International Etiquette)
  • All tuition fees
  • Full board (all meals) in shared accommodation
  • Ski and rail pass (GoldenPass line)
This course offers successful candidates the opportunity to work at a local ski school on completion. 
The Swiss Ski Federation Qualifications are:
  • Level 1 Snow Kids (qualified to teach children)
  • Level 2(teach to intermediate level)
  • Level 3 (teach all abilities, includes avalanche rescue training)
The skiing elements of the course are delivered by the Ecole suisse de ski et snowboard Château d-Oex, and are organised by the Director, Pierre François Mottier.
The course fee includes the following elements. 
Choice of intensive language sessions:
  • English
  • German
  • French
  • Italian
  • Mandarin (simplified)
-Ski Instructor sessions (practical + theory) followed by free skiing
-Whole PersonTM coaching
Social programme including:
  • Full Moon walking
  • Fondue/chocolate evenings Cultural excursions including:
  • Jungfrau / Aletsch Glacier World Heritage Site
  • Geneva and United Nations Office
  • Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Martigny
  • Cheese making (La Maison du Gruyère) and chocolate factory (Maison Cailler)
Options at extra cost:
  • Return transfers to /from Geneva airport
  • Ski equipment hire
  • International cultural trip
  • Guided ski excursion to Chamonix and the Vallée Blanche with qualified local mountain guide (for advanced skiers only). Overnight accommodation in Chamonix.

Students who successfully complete this course are qualified to teach skiers at the levels designated by the Swiss Ski Federation. We provide an opportunity to work at one of the local ski schools after you have completed the course.

Instructor training is organised by Pierre-Francois Mottier, Director of the Ecole suisse de ski et snowboard at Château-d'Oex. The three qualifications offered are:
Level 1 Snow Kids (teaching children)
Level 2 teaching intermediates
Level 3 teaching all abilities, including avalanche rescue training.
